Lessons are available to campers of all ages and no previous experience is necessary. We quickly see skills improve and provide the opportunity for campers to try different disciplines such as slalom, trick skiing, wake boarding, wake surfing and wake skating. Our 'Centurion' boat takes 5 campers out at a time and across an hour we deliver a fun and exciting program that not only teaches skills but builds confidence and independence.
Waterski/Wakeboard lessons are scheduled by the week and you must pre-register for them. A week's worth of lessons includes one hour of group instruction for all five of the activity days at camp. Our waterski program is extremely popular and we recommend registering as early as possible as all spaces are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Campers learn everything from basic horsecare and barn management to riding form and technique. Our CHA certified riding director's curriculum will soon see you cantering off into the sunset! At the end of most weeks there is a trail ride around our beautiful camp! Lessons are available for campers of all ages and all experience levels. We provide helmets, though campers should come with long pants and boots with at least a ¼ inch heel.
Riding lessons are scheduled by the week and must be pre-registered for. They include one hour of instructional English style riding. Riding lessons often sell out long before the summer so we recommend registering early to avoid disappointment.
We work with our neighbors, the Indian Mountain School, who have made their nationally recognized tutoring program available to Camp Sloane campers. They can specialize in many subjects including SAT prep. Contact the Camp Office at 860-435-2557 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
