Specialty Camps

Traditional Overnight Camp, PLUS so much more!

If your camper wants to dive deeper into a specific elective then signing up for one of our special experiences is the right choice. Campers focus on one particular area of camp, advance their skills and they still get to have the sleep-away experience. Their extended program often includes off-site field trips and a more in-depth focus on skill development. For dates and rates of Specialty Camp sessions, visit our Dates and Rates page.

Performing Arts Camp

Performing Arts Camp offers pre-professional musical theatre training in a fun and nurturing environment. This two-week program culminates in a production that is performed for the whole Camp Sloane family. The extended activity time in the morning and evening programs at night allow Performing Arts campers the opportunity to excel at acting, dancing, singing, and stagecraft while forming tight-knit bonds with their castmates. Our experienced and talented staff mentors coach campers to achieve their full performance potential. Throughout the session, campers enjoy an overnight in the Performing Arts Building, baking tasty treats and watching examples of great stage productions. Campers also leave camp with their very own professional headshot. PLEASE BE AWARE - Campers will devote most of their time to this experience and may only get the chance to do one other elective activity of their choice. They will have the opportunity to participate in free-swim and tent bonding time activities.

Horseback Riding Camp

Riding camp friends are friends forever at Camp Sloane YMCA! The Riding Experience is the most fun-filled English riding experience camp can provide! The riding campers get to know each other, and our horses, very well during the double-period riding session each morning. There will be special evening programs and an overnight in the barn as well. The instruction delivered by our certified instructors will include detailed development of the campers’ riding ability as well as an introduction to barn and horse management, horse physiology and health. PLEASE BE AWARE - Campers will devote most of their time to this experience and may only get the chance to do one other elective activity of their choice. They will have the opportunity to participate in free-swim and tent bonding time activities.

Waterski Camp - Register early, this program fills fast!

Campers will participate in a double-period of skiing and wakeboard riding the first week of camp. Campers do a fun waterski overnight during the second week with a sunset ski and a night of camping and a lobster dinner at the lake. The next morning is spent on the water for a “breakfast ski”. In addition to water ski and wakeboard, campers will have ample opportunities to participate in our other activities at camp. This program is open only to two-week campers, as the second week provides adequate time to make up for uncooperative weather, should the need arise. Ski campers are also eligible to sign up for lessons during the second week of camp.
