Session 4 began just like any other - except we couldn't believe that most of the summer had already passed us by! So we were determined to make the most of the sunny days by loving our activities and bonding with our fellow campers.
Activities were soon in full swing and stories of making new friends and trying new things could be heard throughout camp, which is really awesome to hear because that's what camp is all about. Kids who had never been waterskiing before were able to stand up on their first try and throughout their week keep getting better. Other kids played it out on the sports field in soccer, tennis, volleyball and even badminton while others kept it low key during portfolio or improv classes.
A major highlight of the week was the final square dance of the summer with campers and counselors alike learning the classic steps and moves and dancing around to their favorite tunes. As always the evening was a great success and everyone danced their hearts out!
And finally the long-awaited day arrived ... theme day! Olympics was upon us and 8 different countries competed in heats during the day, the finals in the late afternoon, and the much-anticipated relay to end it off. The countries competing at this year's Olympics were South Africa, Mexico, Jamaica, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, England and Netherlands. After a lot of effort and spirit from all of the teams the overall winners of the 2019 Camp Sloane Olympics were Sweden!
Everyone had a wonderful Session 4 Week A!
