The next day was Monday Funday and every camper spent the day getting to know their Village, making new friends and exploring everything camp has to offer, before signing up for their activities for the rest of the week.
Tuesday was the start of activities, and there was a whole variety of things going on – from Paddlemaster, to Climbing, to Archery, to Painting, to Soccer, to Culinary and even a special ‘Hamilton’ class, where the campers spent the week perfecting every song from the popular musical!
Evening programs this week have been particularly exciting, with the Steniors enjoying a hectic game of Kaos, as well as a fantastic pool party, while the Puniors had a beach party, which involved a cook-out, swimming in the lake, Pontoon boat rides and even some Banana Boating!
On Thursday we had our all-camp evening activity, the ‘Dutch Games’, run by our staff from the Netherlands. Each team got to try out some typical fun Dutch games, such as ‘Spijkerpoepen’ and ‘Limbo Dansen’, scoring points at each station. Everyone had a great time and Team Amsterdam came out the eventual winners.
Then suddenly it was the last day of activities, and everyone spent the day making the most of the final full day of the summer, trying out everything they’ve learned over the week.
Last night we had our delicious Banquet dinner and then enjoyed the very last Closing Campfire of 2016, with all the Villages performing skits with a ‘Cartoon’ theme.
We can’t quite believe that the summer has come to an end. What an incredible 8 weeks it’s been! See you all next year!
