Session 3 Round-Up

Session 3 kicked off with an awesome Monday Funday, with every camper staying in their Village groups, playing games, touring camp and making new friends. Then the activities started and the week was spent learning new skills in classes such as Ultimate Frisbee, Climbing, Sailing, Swimming, Painting, Rockband and Culinary. The Performing Arts campers also began to prepare for their production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ that they would be putting on at the end of the session.

Towards the end of the week we had an amazing Square Dance, with everyone getting involved and showing their enthusiasm – the Senior Girls even took the lead when the ‘Hoedown Throwdown’ came on.

The Waterski campers spent the week advancing their skiing and boarding skills and then had their overnight on Friday, which included a Lobster dinner down by the lake, followed by a sunset ski, a night spent camping in the teepee and an early morning  ski at sunrise.

On Saturday night the campers were surprised with an amazing Color War break, which involved every camper and all the staff wearing different colored glow sticks that represented their team for the following day’s events, as well as some immense fireworks to really get everyone excited.

Sunday saw a Color War battle of epic proportions, with the red, yellow, green and blue teams competing against each other in a series of fun activities, followed by a relay race in the evening and a final battle using colored powder and water balloons. The Yellow team were the eventual winners, and they celebrated with all of the cheering and enthusiasm you would expect!

After the excitement of the previous day, activities for the second week began and campers were able to sign up for a whole different set of classes, including Mountain Biking, Crew, Musical Theater and Volleyball, among others.

On Tuesday and Wednesday we had our overnights, where every village cooked their own ‘tin-foil surprise’ dinners and camped out at different spots in the woods, setting up their own tents and shelters and sleeping out under the stars.

Thursday was a busy day for performances – first we had a Boyband and Girlband lip-sync battle, with all of the Villages competing for victory. We were all then in for a big treat and got to watch the incredible Performing Arts camp show of ‘Beauty and the Beast. It was a great night at the theater, and the PA campers did spectacularly well to put on such a wonderful performance in under two weeks!

And then all of a sudden it was the end of the week. We finished the session with a fantastic Closing Campfire and were entertained by all the Village skits that took us through the decades at Sloane.

What an incredible session it has been. It’s always sad to see our campers leave, but we can’t wait to see you all again next summer!
