Session 2 Comes To An End

We can’t quite believe the session has come to an end already! And what a session it’s been. Last week began with an awesome Monday Funday, with all the campers getting to know each other and playing some great games with the rest of their Villages. This was followed by an awesome fireworks display to celebrate the 4th of July, with all the campers and staff oohing and ahhing as the sky lit up with bright colors.

Then activities began and there were all sorts going on, from Sailing to Rockband, Cheerleading to Horse Riding, Culinary to Riflery, and many more. We also had an awesome Square Dance, with everyone dancing the night away!

At the weekend we had our all-camp theme day, and this session it was Carnival Day! There were jugglers, a haunted house, pony rides, obstacle courses, a bouncy house, a dunk tank and other such activities. The campers received tickets at each station that they could then exchange for prizes and snacks – we even had an ice cream van!

On Monday, activities began again, and every camper got the chance to switch it up and try something new for the second week of the session, with many choosing things they’d never done before. 5th periods are a free choice every day, and this session they included great options like Athletic Orienteering, Bodyboard Yoga and Martial Arts, allowing the campers to do something a little out of the ordinary.

On Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the campers went out to different areas on camp for their overnights, where they cooked their dinners on the campfire, played games, enjoyed delicious s’mores and slept under the stars. The Waterski campers also had their own special overnight, with a lobster dinner and sunset and sunrise ski sessions.

Adventure camp has also been going on this session, with the campers doing all sorts of great activities, including climbing, high ropes, rafting, mountain biking and some great off camp trips.

Towards the end of the session a lot of the campers and staff put on a fantastic show at the Performing Arts Showcase, with singing, dancing and even some amazing cheerleading!

Our Leadership campers have also been busy all session, helping in different areas around camp, volunteering in the local community and learning all about what makes a great leader in their first steps towards becoming a counselor.

So, all in all, it’s been a jam-packed, immensely fun session and we can’t wait to see what Session 3 is going to bring!
