Session 5 kicked off with a fantastic opening campfire, with all the staff performing some entertaining skits and songs to get everyone excited for the very last week of the summer.
The next day saw us all get out our craziest, most brightly colored clothes because it was Monday Funday! Everyone spent the day with their sections, doing fun activities, games and getting to know camp and each other.
All of a sudden it was Tuesday and the start of Activities for the week — there was Archery, Waterskiing, Climbing, Rockband, Horse Riding, Swimming and Soccer, just to name a few. The girls had an 'Un-birthday Party' evening activity, involving party games and cupcake decorating, while the boys enjoyed Banana Boat rides and an epic scavenger hunt across camp.
Thursday evening's traditional 'All Camp' evening activity saw us all take part in a series of Old Dutch Games, organized by two of our awesome counselors from the Netherlands — everyone dressed in orange and headed down to the A-field for an evening of fun games such as doing the Limbo, Apple Bobbing, and an Egg and Spoon race with a twist.
Then before we knew it, it was the last full day of activities, and the last full day of camp for the entire summer! We had a bit of liquid sunshine but, as ever, even the rain couldn't dampen the mood on camp, with everyone enjoying some indoor fun and games.
Last night we had the very last Closing Campfire of the summer, with each section performing a 'Musical' skit, alongside plenty of our well known and loved camp songs, like the ever-popular 'Shaving Cream'.
Session 5 has been the perfect end to the summer. And what a summer it's been, with spectacular Performing Arts Productions, energetic Square Dances, absolutely epic days such as Color War, Olympics and Carnival, and not forgetting all of the awesome activities too!
Summer 2015, it's been a blast, see you all next year!
