Wow, time really does fly when you're having fun! We can't believe it's the end of Session 4 already!
The session began two whole weeks ago with an amazing Monday Funday, full of section time, camp tours and plenty of games, before we all got together for the Opening Campfire.
Then it was time for activities to start and our campers spent the week making new friends and learning new skills, as well as doing activities they already knew and loved. Riding Camp was also going on this session and our specialty campers enjoyed plenty of riding time, as well as some fun extras such as painting the horses, making horse treats, having an epic overnight sleepover in the barn and even an off camp trip!
The last few days of the first week was filled with our favorite kind of dancing (Square Dancing of course), and an extra special all camp Carnival Day, which involved clowns, a moon bounce, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, palm reading and even a haunted house. The week was then finished off with a spectacular magic show!
The second week of the session saw the campers choose all new activities, such as Paddlemaster, Sailing, Riflery, High Ropes or even Camp Restaurant, where the campers have the opportunity to create and cook and entire 3 course meal and invite their favorite counselors.
Towards the end of the session we were treated to a spectacular Performing Arts Showcase, with performances from campers and staff alike. There was singing, dancing, acting and even a staff band!
And then before we knew it, the end of the session and the Closing Campfire were upon us. Every section performed some brilliant skits to the theme of 'Sloane Through The Decades', showing us all how much camp has changed and grown since 1928.
What an awesome session it's been… see you all next year!
