Time Flies When You're At Camp!

It's hard to believe that Session 3 is over already! It seems like it was just yesterday that all the campers were arriving for the start of the session. And what a fabulous session it's been!

We started with our Opening Campfire and then the next day was Monday Funday, with all the campers exploring camp and playing games with the other kids and counselors in their sections. Activities began on Tuesday, with many campers trying brand new things for the first time — there was Horse Riding, Waterskiing, Climbing, Dancing, Acting (especially for our Performing Arts campers!) and much, much more.

Thursday saw us all enjoying a fantastic Square Dance — a much loved Camp Sloane tradition — and then at the end of the week we mixed things up a little and swapped Sunday and Monday, so Sunday became a regular day of activities instead of our all camp theme day.

But then SURPRISE, on Monday it was Color War! We had a very impressive Color War break with everyone down at Boating — there were waterskiers, music, colored smoke and plenty of cheering from everyone involved. Color War was a huge success, with every camper taking part in a number of fun and whacky games, ending in an epic relay race and colored powder fight!

The week continued with more awesome activities, overnights in some amazing spots around camp, and some very hot weather… time to get the sprinklers out at Oval! And with the hot weather came the thunderstorms of course — we love a bit of liquid sunshine at Sloane though and we spent the rainy hours in the Dining Hall having an awesome dance party!

Then as the week started to draw to a close we were treated to a spectacular performance of 'Godspell Junior' by our amazingly talented Performing Arts campers, who had been working extremely hard all session to prepare the show. It was a fantastic night and the PA campers deserve a huge congratulations from us all.

And just as quickly as it began, Session 3 came to an end with some great skits, fun songs and silly stories at our Closing Campfire.

See you all next summer!
