Sloane Stories: Carl Smith

For our next Sloane Story, Carl talks about memories of long summer days and plenty of bug juice:

"Camp Sloane gave me so many incredible memories from my first year learning how to swim at the lake to sailing and horse back riding. Hiking Bear Mountain and sitting around campfires telling ghost stories was incredible. Stan the Man was a great mentor during those years and my experience at Camp Sloane lives with me yet today.

The years have gone by fast but back then, those long summer days seemed to last forever. Putting on skits was great, drinking bug juice was better and buying candy at the camp store was the best. I remember sitting in the dining hall and learning Elvis had died, it was a sad day for all of us. I enjoyed the Camp Olympics, backwards day, square dancing with the girls. Camp Sloane will be with me as long as I live."
