Sloane Stories: Carolyn Vaughan

This is the first post in what is going to become an incredible collection of Sloane Stories - today we hear from Carolyn, who spent many summers at camp as both a camper and on staff:

"Hi, My name is Carolyn Vaughan my nick name was Knuck during my tenure at Camp, from a Pioneer in 1957 to Girls Camp Director 1973. I am a grateful Camp Sloane Alumni. I had some of the best times of my life at Camp, with friendships that now span over 50 years. There are more memories than I could write in an entire book, which I am working on, and Sloane warrants more than one Chapter.!

So many thoughts, random memories, 30 days of rain in July 1969, landing on the Moon with TVs brought into the Dining Hall, Fergie running the Camp after Burr's heart attack, wonderful friends, including Fergie, and Janet, and. Pat Burress, Mary Jane Pardue. How current on Camp Sloane friends? I have had the joy of seeing 3 Riding Staff friends within the last six months out here in Parachute, Colorado... Doug Roberto, Kathy Conley Barrett and Sarah Ludden. Thanks for some of the best parts of my life.

Carolyn "Knuck" Vaughan"

Years at camp: 1957-1973
